Charges laid after random bear spray attacks in Medicine Hat – Lethbridge News Now

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Three people are facing charges following an investigation into bear spray attacks in Medicine Hat.
The Medicine Hat Police Service said two of those attacks occurred in December 2023 and the other was in January 2024.
In each case, the victims were allegedly sprayed as they were walking, none of them suffered lasting physical effects from the bear spray.
Jared Adam, 19, is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and one count of resisting arrest.
A 15-year-old is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.
A 17-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon.
Due to provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the two underaged suspects cannot be named.
