The Situation Room is undergoing some renovations.
TVLine has confirmed that Wolf Blitzer’s long-running CNN evening program is relocating to the network’s daytime schedule. As part of a larger overhaul at the cable network, The Situation Room will move from its current 6 pm ET time slot to 10 am. It will also expand from one hour to two hours, and CNN’s chief investigative correspondent, Pamela Brown, will join Blitzer as co-host.
The Situation Room will take over the time slot previously held by chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta. According to a CNN spokesperson, the network is in “active discussions” with Acosta about a new place on its lineup.
CNN’s updated schedule will also include 5 Things With Rahel Solomon (airing at 5 am ET), CNN This Morning With Audie Cornish (at 6 am), The Arena With Kasie Hunt (at 4 pm) and The Lead With Jake Tapper (relocating to 5 pm).
It was first reported by Status earlier this month that Blitzer would likely relocate to CNN’s daytime schedule. Mark Thompson, CNN’s chairman and CEO, then alluded to the change to the New York Times on Wednesday, as part of a series of upcoming adjustments to the network.
According to Thompson, CNN will eliminate about 200 jobs related to traditional TV operations, while hiring a similar number for new digital roles. CNN also plans to launch a new streaming service focused on lifestyle content, though further details aren’t available.
“In the end, this is about CNN being — as it has been in its history — an indispensable way in which many, many millions of people get their news,” Thompson said.

I stopped watching CNN years ago once the new management decided to go the Fox Lite route. Reading about the horrible treatment of Jim Acosta angers me. But from clips I’ve seen on various outlets – the main change CNN needs to make is to deposit despicable Scott Jennings in the trash heap where he belongs. A truly repulsive MAGA talking head.
KEEP ACOSTA, put him in the 6pm spot and let him hold Trump to the truth! ANYTHING ELSE WOULD BE TRUMP SUPPRESSING THE RIGHT TO SPEAK!!!! CNN…. DON’T BOW DOWN TO TRUMP, GIVE INTO HIS POWERLESS THREATS, AND KISS HIS ASS!!! HELP AMERICA SEE TRUMP FOR THE SNAKE OIL SALESMAN HE IS!!!!!
Definitely get rid of Jennings!!!!!! He’s drunk wayyyy too much of the Republican koolaid. Adam Kinzinger would be great…. he’s an honest Republican, sees the truth and calls it as it is!

CNN is going to lose more viewers. Why don’t they get rid of Jake Tapper and Dana Bash and fill in their slots with Jim Acosta and Jim Sciuoto What about Brianna and Boris, or are they going to mess with them too. Am Canadian and am so sick of the choices CNN are making. Hope a big network will grab Jim Acosta, Disgusting.
The way I read this, Sara, John, and Kate stay as is, as do Boris and Brianna. The shows around them are changing.
The only two CNN personalities I really don’t like are Acosta and Amanpour. They seem bitter and angry.
People who watch CNN don’t want a slightly less 🦇💩Fox News. They want actual facts and real reporting. People are willing to pay for that, but not clickbait or both-sides, he-said she-said BS!
They need to get rid of Wolf and refresh with new perspectives. Hunt should also be given her walking papers.
Acosta is needed, he is a journalist that tells it like it is, even if you don’t agree. I could do without Wolf being on at any time of the day or night!

CNN – please do not get rid of Erin Burnett. She is a very good reporter. I look forward to listening to her show every evening. A great loss – Jim Acosta. Sad to hear. Just because FOX news tells all lies and too many are now buying into those lies), is no excuse to rid your programming of good honest reporters. The true facts will eventually come out and be heard. What is going on in our country and decisions being made by the currant dictator President is SCARY.

i didnt vote for trump the first time.but cnn coverage of trump the first term convinced me I was wrong.adam schiff never provided proof of anything. acosta is rude and a bully. I no longer watch cnn.
Will no longer watch CNN…I don’t think the explanation given is legit but an excuse because of the situation as a result of the election.
Cnn should leave Wolf Blitzer at his current time. He is the best journalist at CNN.. many of his loyal watchers will not be able to see him because we are working at 10;00 a.m. I think this is a bad move.

Your lawyer i just watched on situation room he is so easy to listen to . He speaking so flowingly ,enjoy him . No Pamela on Situation Room . She is not ready. She is not respectful.
