SPANIFH FORT, Ala. (WALA) – The Spanish Fort Police Department is urging resident to exercise caution after receiving reports of a bear sighting in the area recently.
Police say a bear was spotted in the area of Bromley Road.
While bears are generally harmless and tend to avoid interacting with people, the Spanish Fort PD says residents should take a the following steps to stay safe and not attract bears.
Earlier this week, a man in Gulf Breeze, Fla., was bitten on the leg by a bear in his backyard while trying to protect his dog.
