PAWTUCKET — The PawSox unveiled a pair of new logos, as well as new uniforms and hats at their holiday event at McCoy Stadium on Friday night.
The primary logo consists of a smiling polar bear, decked out in a PawSox cap, with its arms raised through a pair of red socks. A second, alternate logo includes a snarling polar bear snapping a light blue bat. The team is calling each logo an “update” of their former alternate logo, which involved a smiling polar holding a bat.
Pawtucket will still use its old primary logo — a pair of red socks over a baseball — on occasion.
The team also showcased a pair of new uniforms. The home whites feature a new PawSox wordmark — the empty space in the capital-P is now filled by a pawprint — with the snarling bear as a sleeve patch. An alternate uniform in sky blue contains a navy blue paw stamped on the lower left side of the jersey.
The team introduced four new hats. The primary home hat is light blue with the head of the snarling bear and a navy-blue bill. An alternate hat inverts the colors. The road cap contains an old-fashioned P logo with the pawprint in the middle, as well as pawprints along the left side of a red bill. Another alternate hat has the lower part of a bear’s leg dressed in a red sock, the paw peeking out.
The logos were designed by Brandiose.
Merchandise featuring the new logos is on sale in the McCoy Stadium gift shop.
