Afiyah Cornwall registered a hat-trick to lead defending champion Club Sando to an emphatic 8-0 drubbing of Athletic International Academy (AIA) in their T&T Women’s League Football (WoLF) opener on Saturday.
Playing at the St Augustine Secondary Ground, Warren Street, Cornwall netted her hat-trick in the span of nine second-half minutes in the 60th, 68th and 69th.
Khadidra Debesette’s third-minute opener was followed by a double from Karyn Forbes in the 27th and 28th minutes.
Club Sando also got a goal each from Jessica Harragin in the 71st and Chelcy Ralph in the 79th to complete the dominant win.
At the Courland Recreation Ground in Black Rock Tobago, there were wins for Black Panthers and Tobago Chicas, 2-1 and 2-0 over Combined Ballerz and Jewels, respectively.
