A black-and-white houndstooth hat once owned by Alabama football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant sold for more than $33,000 at a recent auction.
Lelands 2021 Spring Classic Auction included the hat, which was owned by an unnamed consignor’s mother who had obtained it directly from Bryant. The hat sold for $33,744, less than half of the selling price of a previous one owned by Bryant which was auctioned for over $70,000.
The auction also included a Tom Brady rookie card that sold for a world record $2.25 million, a Zion Williams RPA rookie card that sold for $269,549 and a PSA 9 Wayne Gretzky 1979 O-Pee-Chee Rookie card that garnered $259,501.
Other items included a 2003 LeBron James Ultimate Collection Autographed Rookie ($211,199), a LeBron James 2019 Logoman 1/1 ($191,563), a 1948 Babe Ruth single-signed baseball ($104,813), Pittsburgh Steelers legend Jack Lambert’s fake teeth holder ($19,914), and a George Washington lock of hair ($39,922).
