Medicine Hat Tigers players visited the local hospital on Thursday to hand out Teddy Bears collected during a recent game.
During the Teddy Bear Toss game on Dec. 7, a total of 2,620 stuffed animals where collected to give to four local charities.
Children at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital got to receive the gifts and visit with Tigers players.
Tigers captain Oasiz Wiesblatt said he enjoyed handing out the bears and being there for kids to visit with them.
“It’s very uplifting. It’s very heart warming and you know it’s almost a little sad for us,” Wiesblatt said.
“It’s kid of happy to see these people’s faces to see how happy they are to see us, and for us to make their days. It’s really awesome for us.”
The charity game also helped collect 2,258 winter gear like toques, mittens and scarves.
Liam Ruck scored the goal that unleased everything onto the ice with five minutes and 53 seconds left in the first period.
