Drivers should keep their eyes peeled on the roadways as temperatures warm up and animals are on the move.
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) cautions travelers to look for animals on the roads after a black bear was tragically killed after being hit by a car in Howell County.
Conservation agents reported that the driver called law enforcement and was fortunately not hurt in the collision.
The MDC reminds residents that if this ever happens to them, never approach a wounded bear or any other large wildlife.
People should call their local MDC agent or law enforcement to report the accident and the injured animal.
